Victorian Oak 2 Decanter Tantalus

  

Fabulous late 19c oak two decanter/tantalus box dating to C1890. Wonderful colour and in great condition. The solid oak cabinet has an amazing grain pattern and in wonderful condition with no damage or splits etc. Retaining the original pale blue silk to the inner top[some small staining] and leather covered divisions. It has its lock but no key[easy to find] and the lid closes flush with silver plated stop hinges.

Cast metal lion head handles make it very decorative. The two original matched half hobnail decanters with facet stoppers are in excellent order with only minor nibbles to the bottom of stoppers which is usual and bottles are fine with no damage to collars. Decanters are 9 inches high[23cm] x 3.5 ins square[9cm] and cabinet is 10 ins high[26cm] x 9 ins wide[23cm] x 5 ins deep[13cm].
