Unusual Inlaid Mahogany Decanter Box/Tantalus C1890

  
An unusual 19c inlaid mahogany decanter/tantalus box dating to C1890. The plain hand blown decanters with octagonal chamfered collars and facet stoppers are slim and measure 9 inches high[23cm] x 4 ins wide[10cm] x 1.5 ins deep[4cm]. They are in good order with only the very minor[I do mean minor] odd flea bite. There are two engraved glasses unsure it they are original but are old. The interior retains the original green felt lining but it has seen better days.

The exterior is in super condition with all inlay intact and a really nice colour with no damage or splits. The sides have brass carry handles.

Box measures 10.5 inches high[27cm] x 7 ins square[18cm]. It has its original lock but no key and the lid closes flush. A really nice item with good decorative appeal and also practical.
