Rare Antique Two 1 Litre Georgian C1820 Step Diamond Hobnail Cut Decanters Vgc

  
TWO VERY SIMILAR, RARE, ANTIQUE GEORGIAN C1820 STEP DIAMOND HOBNAIL CUT VGC WATERFORD? This listing is for two almost matching (apart from the base) beautiful ANGLO IRISH antique of GEORGIAN decanters. They boast the usual delightful fully cut body from star cut base to the lower body, diamond cut, above which is a band of micro hobnail followed by graduated rings of step cutting. The stopper is also cut with double knop, a small plain one followed by a larger diagonally cut one and a mushroom star cut dome. The decanters are really similar and only vary in the fact that one base is star cut and the other is fully star cut covering the entire base with 48 star cut whereas the other is a 16 point star.

Measurements: Height 9 3/4 x 4 3/4 across base diameter. Capacity: 1 litre (generous) I have found some call one litre Magnum and others call 2 x 750cl as Magnum....

Condition: Both are in great condition with one stopper with small chipping to the base edge. I cannot find any other fault except fine smattering of hard water marks on one decanter on the upper body, commensurate to age, that hardly show in the photos.
