FINE GERMAN SILVER & CUT GLASS 3pc LIQUOR DECANTERS withSTAND
Please scroll down the page to see additional photographs of this item. FINE GERMAN SILVER & CUT GLASS 3pc LIQUOR DECANTERS w/STAND. Presented is a superb quality German silver and glass three bottle cruet or liquor decanter set. This piece was made by Weinranck & Schmidt and dates to the late 1800s. The set is very cleverly designed such that the three bottles triangular bottles form one circular bottle shape when they are all in the silver stand. The bottles are beautifully cut with a frosted design of swags and ribbons, made to look like a continuous line around the bottles when they are stored together. The stand itself is adorned around the side with wreath and acanthus leaf decorations. This set is in great overall condition.
As the photo points out, there is a crack to the glass of one of the stoppers, but this stopper still sits nicely in the bottle neck and seems sturdy. The interior of the neck of one of the bottles has a couple of filled in chips, which is not visible without close inspection, looking into the neck of the bottle. One of the wreath decorations around the side of the base is missing a piece of its ribbon, as we point out in the photos. Otherwise there are no issues. The underside of the silver stand is hallmarked with the maker's mark for Hanau German maker Weinranck & Schmidt, as well as the German crescent and crown for 800 purity silver.
Each bottles is about 8 3/4 inches tall. The weight of just the silver base is 130.1 grams or 4.6 regular ounces. This weight does not include the silver in the stoppers and handles.
