Up for your consideration is a very fine English tantalus made by the renowned English silversmith Daniel & Arter. The heavy frame is silverplated, and the piece is hallmarked on one side, and titled "The Tantalus" on the other.

The glass is beautifully cut, and of the finest quality with many-faceted stoppers. Each decanter has a hallmarked sterling silver tag "Brandy" and Cognac. The piece measures 11.5" tall, 13" wide, and 7 deep. It is quite heavy, weighing about 18 lbs. Overall, the set is in excellent condition. It is in unlocked position, and there is no key. The piece opens properly and snaps in place by pushing down on the lock. There are no dents or dings to the silver-plate, which is relatively untarnished. The decanters show light wear to the extreme edges of the bottoms and the bottom of one stopper. These are not chips, and do not distract. This quote is for the Continental U.
