Fabulous c1900 Sinclaire ABP Cut Glass Decanter Bottle w Sterling Silver Stopper. Presented is a beautiful antique Sinclaire cut glass decanter, dating to circa 1900. The body of the decanter is done in a handsome octagonal paneled form, with fantastic quality cut and frosted decoration in each of the eight panels. The designs alternate between a pedestal bowl of flowers surrounded by beaded garlands and scrollwork, and smaller oval vignettes of flowers and lush foliage. The stopper of the decanter is likewise done in an octagonal, paneled design, clad in thick sterling silver. Each panel features beautifully hand chased floral designs, latticework, scrolls and bellflowers, really high quality well done work, with two panels having a square cartouche perfect for a monogram but never used. This piece is in great overall condition. There has been a chip ground down on the foot of the decanter, but this was professionally done and the glass there is quite smooth now. The diameter of the base is the same size it has always been. The only change is that one spot is thinner on the edge.

This is where the chip was removed. There are two photos that show the thickness of the glass on the base. One shows the thickness in all areas except for where the chip was removed. The other photos shows the thickness of the glass where the chip was removed. The stopper also has a chip which we point out in the photos, but this is not noticeable when the stopper is on and the stopper still seats well.

There are no other chips, no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs. Minor shelf wear to the underside. The decanter itself is signed Sinclaire, while the silver of the stopper is stamped with the Gorham maker's mark as well as sterling. The decanter stands about 13 5/8 inches tall to the top of the stopper, 10 3/8 inches to the rim, and measures about 5 inches in diameter at the widest point. Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution.
