Early 19th Century Pittsburgh Handblown Cut Flint Glass Decanter Circa 1820 Beautiful early flint glass decanter. Typical of the style attributed to manufacture at a Pittsburgh area glasshouse during the 1820s. Has three applied neck rings and is cut in the Pittsburgh strawberry diamond and fan pattern. Has ground and polished pontiled base.
Stopper has a large cut star pattern to the top. Excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Does have a tiny bit of haze in the bottom that may wash out and a heavy ring of old base wear to the bottom, and a few scattered light scratches to the body. Measures approximately 4 5/8" wide x 10 1/2" tall including the stopper. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display-ability of the piece.
