Big Art Deco Czech Bohemian Cut To Clear Etched Thistle Pattern Butter Dish Dome. What I have to offer for your viewing pleasure here is this beautiful antique Art Deco Czech cut crystal butter dish! This beauty has cut to clear alternating clear and frosted panels with bouquets of highly detailed etched thistles springing from them! It has a large and stunning cut to clear 6 sided handle that also has engraved flowers on every other panel. It is not marked and our best guess is Czech / Bohemian and the quality of work says so too. There is a beautiful scrolling monogram on one panel of "MB". This is a large butter dish which could double as a cheese dome.
This is by far one of the most beautiful butter dishes we have seen as it is simply gorgeous! Surprisingly for the high quality it is not marked anywhere that I have seen. It is in superb overall condition for its age with no cracks, and a chip to the tip of the handle and some fleabites along one edge, there are some minute "white spots" which appear to be ash trapped in the glass during the firing. The under plate measures 9.75" wide and sits 1.25" high, the top measures 6.25" wide and sits 7.25" high to the tip of the handle & it is 3.25 high to the top of the dome on the plate.
