DESCRIPTION: This is a wonderful oak two bottle / decanter tantalus which is very nicely finished with nickle plated mounts. The case is made from oak which is a wonderful rich colour and has lovely silver plated mounts. The mounts are superb being nicely shaped.

The tantalus has a lovely carrying handle which sets the tantalus off beautifully. In addition it is complete with it's key. To access the bottles firstly the key is used to unlock the lock, The key is then removed, once the key is removed this allows the button in which the lock is located to be pushed downwards whilst holding the handle.

Once the release catch is pushed down the handle can be lowered backwards and the bottles are then free to be accessed. The bottles are all lead crystal cut glass and have faceted stoppers. There is a nice feature of a small piece of lead within the glass. 10.75 inches / 27 cm long. 5.5 inches / 14 cm deep. 12.5 inches / 31.5 high. AGE: The tantalus is circa 1890. The case is in lovely condition just minor knocks / marks commensurate with age and there are some knocks to the corner at the bottom of the case. The bottles are also in good usable condition, there has bee a chip to the neck of one of the bottle which has been polished, this can be viewed in the close up photographs, and just the odd nibbles commensurate with age and careful use. To the nickel plating on mounts as would be expected. For collection in person, cash on collection. Unless prior arrangements have been made all items to be collected within 14 days.
