This is a small set consisting of a Gold Enameled Mosher Wheel Cut Crystal Liqueur Decanter, stopper, and four Quatrefoil Cups. All are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. Some of the original gold from the wheel cut engravings is gone, though much of it is retained. The set was likely made between 1860 and 1900.
The decanter with the stopper in place is 11.5 inches tall and the base is 3.25 inches. The cups are 2.25 inches tall with a one-inch base.
We found this lovely, delicate set in a French antique market. The word quatrefoil means "four leaves, " which describes the exquisite cups. The decanter, stopper, and cups all have a wheel cut floral matching pattern which probably shows up best in the photos with the dark background. In our searches, we have yet to find another like it and we assume it is rare, probably one of a kind, certainly an elegant gift for someone who loves antique fine cut glass.
Also, a stunning way to serve a taste of liqueur to treasured friends.
