Antique Mahogany Decanter /Tantalus with Games & items and provenance, c 1897 +

  

This is a Victorian Oak Tantalus dated 1897 and as you can see is in really good condition for an antique of 120 years old, the Star base decanters are also in very good condition and on one of the rims I can feel one very tiny weeny chip, hardly worth mentioning and cannot be seen. The compartments have a lot of items such as cards, dice, shaker, dominoes, loop, counters, cufflinks (masonic) a small clock and lots of other things, 6 glasses which I would say are replacements that have been sourced over the years.

The patina is fantastic and its obvious that its been very well looked after over the years, yes there is some wear to the plate work and some marks on the oak but overall its very acceptable, there is a key that operates the lock but I have not tried to lock it up just in case it will not open again, the secret draw operates firmly, no sign of worm or rot anywhere. I would prefer collection as it is very heavy but will post by UPS on a overnight service, can be collected from my home in Harwich, Essex, CO12.
