Lovely antique French hallmarked sterling silver & cut crystal or glass 4pc vanity set including three large perfume or cologne bottles and long 8 3/8 vanity box, all with bead festooned and acanthus leaf accents and ribbed or fluted bodies! One of a few sets of matching antique to vintage French sterling topped vanity sets that Ive recently been working on, getting ready for listing so, if youre looking for a few pieces to display in a guest or master bath, be sure to browse a little while youre with us. They really do add a touch of elegance, displayed on an old silver tray or even just by themselves, grouped near the sink perhaps.
This set consisting of two 6.5 decanters, a slightly smaller 6 bottle and that wonderful 8 3/8 wide box. All with a ribbed or fluted bodies, star or sunburst patterns cut in the bases and sterling tops. The silver portions all bear the French Minerve or Minerva hallmark, the tiny number 1 within those marks means theyre all in. 950 silver 95% pure and higher than the. 925 standard for sterling silver.
There is a bit of cloudiness to the inside of the decanters, visible in the images, and a few small base chips but no cracks, etc. A small dimple or two possible to the silver tops but no larger dents, damage or repairs to note other than a few darkened spots to the surfaces.
