Beautiful American Brilliant Period (ABP) Crystal Wine Starburst Decanter/Carafe. Excellent condition with no chip, no crack, and no cloudy.

No scratches as my eyes can see. Please view the photos and the video below as they are part of the description. It measures at 9 Tall, and weights 2 lb 13.2 oz without packaging. This American Cut Crystal Decanter/Carefe with Hobstars, Fans, Clusters, Cross Hatching, and Sawtooth Edge meets all the characteristics of ABP as defined by the American Cut Glass Association. This piece seems to be a vintage 1920s piece.

The beading on the neck is typical of the era. Slight irregularities show it was not machine made. Other than being a wine decanter or Carefe, it could also be used as a wine decanter or a stunning vase. American Brilliant Period (ABP) cut glass is fine quality, hand-cut crystal produced between 1880 and 1925. It's exceptional "brilliance" results from the high lead content of the glass, up to 50% versus 24% for modern crystal, which gives it a high refractive index. ABP pieces behave like prisms scattering light into the different colors of the rainbow. Artisans pressed "blank" or uncut pieces of glass against a series of spinning wheels to cut the desired pattern into the surface of the glass and when finished, polished the design restoring it's original clarity and sparkle....
