This listing is for the most gorgeous and impressive cut glass decanter from the American Brilliant Period that we have ever had the privilege of offering. The decanter not only has an elaborately cut design, it has an unusual shaped neck and the stopper is cut to match the decanter's design.

The stopper not only has a cut design that matches the design on the decanter, it is cut with concave shaped panels that exposes a deep teardrop inside. The neck has a diamond cut band around each of the widest areas of the panel cuttings.

The lower body is cut with multiple designs including a wide scalloped band cut in a cane pattern with fans at each low point of the scallops and below the curve of each scalloped band is a group of five elongated cuttings that have the appearance of stylized flowers. The base has an all-over cut design. Although we can't identify the pattern or the maker, this decanter was definitely made by one of the best American glass houses of this period. Measures 12 1/2" high (with stopper inserted), 9 1/2" high (to top of decanter), measures 2 38" in diameter at mouth and has a maximum width of approximately 6". Weighs just under 4 pounds. This incredible decanter is in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws. There is one very faint no-harm rough spot on the top edge of the decanter that is hard to spot, barely felt and is considered very minor. There is a chip on the bottom side of the stopper that is hidden when in place.

There may be a faint nick or two on the cut edges of the design, however, we did not find any flaws. There is minor rubbing on the bottom edge from normal wear. Have been in the Antiques business for over 30 years and try to describe our items as accurately as possible.
