(4) Water Wine Hock Glasses Ruby Red cut to Clear Crystal Bohemian Ajka Marsala

This large size and this color is very hard to find now. We may have multiple "sets" available above in the quantity section above. Measurements: 8-3/8" tall by 2-7/8" wide top rim.

(they can vary in slight size differences next to each other, due to being hand cut and not mold made) 8 to 9 ounce glass. These are a deep/dark Ruby red glass cut to clear. It is layered glass not painted on and will never fade. With clear faceted stem that have tiny notching along the edges of each panel and a rayed cut base.

These were made by the Akja crystal co. In the pattern "Marsala", the pattern is grapes, vine and frosted leaves alternating with hobstar and fan cut.

You can tell they are genuine Ajka because of the size. They made a ruby red and a darker ruby red, these look like the darker ruby to me but you need to look at your glasses to compare if matching- they also made a lighter cranberry which is obvious. These have the 8-point hobstar in between the fan cuts, which is unique to the Ajka line- there is another pattern called "Traube" by the Nachtmann company which has many more points on the star- so check your hobstar to compare as well. Look at the grapes and leaves, you will see the grapes are frosted and clear in the center, while the leave are frosted- this is also distinctive of Ajka's Marsala pattern, lesser quality companies in this region often did not frost the grapes as well and cut them straight clear. In fact if you removed all of the incorrect ones, you would see there are very few of these exact glasses actually available.

PLEASE NOTE There are many companies that made the motif from the Bohemian region, and in many colors. While they are all similar there are differences in quality, colors and motifs, so if you are matching an existing stem you already have please do your research and compare to these and ask all questions. Condition: These are pre-owned but in good condition with no chips, fleabites or cracks.

Very nice and ready to use after sanitizing. Please note Pressed, molded or blown Glass has imperfections from the manufacturing process. These imperfections are inherited by production and not considered damage. However Any large imperfections that look real bad will be noted as major defects of course, but minor imperfections that often occur such as: color variations, creases/lines from molds, tiny air bubbles or small debris encased in glass is natural as not going to be scrutinized or considered damage.
