19c Mahogany Tantalus/Decanter Box C1860

  

Here we have a mid 19c mahogany decanter box with four full hobnail decanters and four glasses dating to C1860. Lovely plum velvet interior which has recently been refurbished. To the top there are 4 glasses that slot into a diamond shaped holder. The decanters are all in good order with good collars and just a couple of minor flea bites to two of the bottoms of the stoppers which is quite usual considering the age. The glasses are perfect but later replacements.

Box measures 12 inches high[31cm] x 10.5 ins square[26cm]. The case is edged in boxwood and has a brass carry handle.

It retains its original lock but no key. A lovely period decorative item with a practical use which also displays very well. Please feel free to ask any questions.
