Queen Lace began producing this Kenyan-African Wildlife pattern in 1959. This beautiful set still has the original Western Germany foil label, which indicates this was made pre-1990.
Queen Lace crystal is entirely hand-blown, hand cut and hand polished in Germany. It is then engraved with the rare Copper-Wheel technique developed during the Renaissance. A single engraving takes more than 24 hours to complete. The decanter measures 13.75 tall with the stopper. It will hold 27 ounces. The standard bottle of wine is 25 ounces. The glasses hold 11 ounces and have a faceted stem. They are 6.75 tall. The set is in beautiful condition.
The base of the elephant glass has a minuscule flea-bite nick on the edge. Very tiny, you can barely feel it with your fingernail. The last photo shows this with a circle around it. All five pieces are engraved "Queen Lace". The item "Vintage Queen Lace Cut Crystal Wine Decanter & Glass Set Kenyan African Wildlife" is in sale since Thursday, May 16, 2019.
