This is a beautiful solid wood tantalus with three cut glass decanters, pewter decanter labels, and a working lock and key. It belonged to my grandfather.

I don't know how old it is, but it is all original and is in excellent condition. The decanter labels are 2 3/8" wide and on 5 1/2" chains, marked Daalderop pewter on the back (2 of the 3 Daalderop labels are present, one is missing). On the front, the labels are inscribed Scotch, Rye, and Sherry. The wood top opens up with a working lock (stamped Eagle Lock Company, Terryville Conn). Turn the key in the lock and slide the button to the left to undo the latch.

The three decanters are in good condition. One decanter has a slight crack near the lip, but it does not affect its ability to hold liquid (see picture). Two of the cut crystal toppers have slight wear in one spot (see pictures). Each decanter is 3 1/8" square and 8 3/4" Tall.

The lip is 2 1/2" in diameter and has a 3/4" opening. The cut glass toppers are 1 7/8 in diameter.

The wood tantalus is in excellent condition with normal wear for something that is probably 50-100 years old. There are no visible scratches or marks. It is 12 1/2" Wide x 10 3/8" Tall. At its base, the width is 5 1/4" and narrows to 2 1/8" at the top. The brass handle is 3 1/2 Wide.

Together, the whole thing weighs 9lbs, 6 oz. The item "Rare wood tantalus with 3 cut glass decanters, Daalderop pewter, working lock" is in sale since Monday, April 18, 2016. This item is in the category "Antiques\Decorative Arts\Glass\Decanters".
