A beautiful pair of antique cut glass mallet shaped wine decanters dating from around 1835, the William IV period. This most attractive pair has been part of a larger set as they are number 3 and 5 on each neck and stopper. They are very good quality and the extensive cut decoration has been superbly executed. The decanters have tapered octagonal panel cut bodies with prismatic cutting and heavily cut and faceted necks.

The air tear stoppers echo the cutting to the body and they have pointed hexagonal tops. The bases are star cut and there is wear to the bases consistent with antique glassware for the table. The decanters are in very good condition with just a very small number of tiny nicks to the facets, mostly to the stoppers. On close inspection there are a number of very minor tiny pinprick size bubble inclusions and some black inclusions within the metal that do show up in the image of the top rim of the decanters with the stoppers removed. These are commensurate with the age and use. This is a very decorative and high quality pair of antique glass decanters for display and use. The decanters stand 11 3/4 inches high and the base diameter is 3 1/2 inches. They are heavy for their size at 2095 grammes unpacked.
