A fabulous rosewood tantalus/decanter box dating to c1890/1900. The plush purple velvet lined interior with folding front doors and rosewood stand with ormolu fittings. The four cut glass hexagonal shape decanters with clear shaped shoulders and star cut bases and stoppers. They measure 8.5 inches high[21cm] and are in amazing condition with no damage to either stoppers or bottles.

There are 16 assorted glasses but some may be original to the box and all are perfect. The original lock is intact but no key but easy to have one cut should you require.

The lid closes flush but front doors have to be pressed flat to allow the lock pins to engage. Box measures 12 inches high[31cm] x 15 ins wide[38cm] x 10.5 ins deep[27cm].

A beautiful antique item that is both useful and decorative and displays really well. As the photo's show it is in stunning condition with great colour and patina and only minimal wear.
