Antique Victorian Cut & Gilded Fern Ware Glass Decanter with 5 Liqueur Glasses

  

This is a nice antique Victorian glass liqueur set comprising a decanter and stopper and 5 fine glasses. The decoration in the glass has been cut/etched into the glass and gilded. The bottle decanter has a bulbous body and long neck, with a ruffled rim.

The stopper is high and also has gilt decoration on facet sides. The little glasses are all hand made and individual. Gilt rims, gilt decoration and also gilt gold rims to base and under the base too. The glasses measure approx 100mm (just under 4 inches) in height with rim diameters of approx 29mm.

The decanter measures a total of approx 11. 1/4 inches including the stopper. Although not a complete set, this is a very nice little antique liqueur set. There are only 5 glasses, one glass has a chip on the base, another has had a repair in the stem making it frosty. The decanter seems fine, the stopper has a chip in the base. The gilt decoration is rubbed a fair bit. Please see pictures for more detail. Items are shown next to an English 1 penny which is 20mm (11/16th of an inch) diameter for scale.
