Antique Georgian Blown Cut Glass Ships Decanter c1800 Anglo-Irish English ship
A very scarce handsome antique late 18th - early 19th Century. Blown & cut English or Anglo-Irish ships decanter with original stopper. The high quality lead crystal exhibits superb quality precision cutting throughout. Although showing signs of extensive use, this decanter is in remarkably.
Good condition, with a minor flea-bite to the mouth lip (see photo detail). Very minor edge roughness to the cutting (see photo detail) and. A narrow ring of interior haze (see photos). To the bottom and an old burst bubble on the edge of the polished pontil. Which I mention for the sake of accuracy.
Ships decanters of this age and quality are exceedingly scarce. 9 & 3/4 tall including stopper by 6 & 1/2 diameter base. The identification and dating of Antiques and Decorative Arts is at times a more or less subjective endeavor. For a variety of reasons, one experts results can differ from anothers.
