Outstanding antique Belle Epoque era French sterling silver mounted cut glass 4-piece tumble up set, bedside carafe service, or «service de nuit verre d'eau». Stylish and functional, these hard to find "bonne nuit" sets are ideal for serving a nighttime refreshment and lovely to display on a nightstand or dresser in the master or guest bedroom. Comprising of a carafe,'upside down' drinking glass tumbler (timbale), circular tray and stoppered flask insert, all with sterling trim hallmarked for. Of quality cut glass with deep wheel cut fluting and gorgeous engraved intaglios of neoclassical laurel leaves and berries. Decorated with exquisite sterling silver mounts enhanced in gold vermeil finish and embellished in raised relief with a frieze of berries and leaves.

The rare glass vial or flask insert is often missing from these old tumble up sets, and is ideal for adding a touch of flavored extract or'jigger' of liquor for a night cap.
