This lovley Antique liqueur decanter is eye poppingly show stealing. The cobalt blue colouring in the sunshine or firelight really attracts the eye of the onlooker. The gilding and enamel decoration is very well done along with wrigglework gilding and hand painted enamelling.

These type of decanters were made for the Asian Markets, usually in a graduated size series at the turn of C1900. There are more spectacular to look at because of their high rise well fitting stopper which is gilded on the pinnacle with a line of gilding on the edge of the hat. Then there are three rings up the neck for added grip each gilded with gilding in between.

This one is a good example of artistry well done. The body has series of white enamelled scroll panels with gilded cross hatch and enamelled dots (typical of Moser patternation) with panels of gilded wriggle work. There is a central cartouche with gilded palm trees within. The pattern is replicated on either side so there are two cartouches with palm trees. The inside is clear and clean allowing the light to flood in.

No chips, just slight loss of gilding which is commensurate for its age. The height is 13.5 x 3 3/4 across the widest point.
